The theatrical release cut was the original version of “The Madness of Michael.” It was created as part of a school project in Danish class, where our assignment focused on developing and producing short films. I took the opportunity to explore storytelling, camera work, and editing for the very first time in a more serious context. This project ended up being my first real short film ever, and it was a hugely exciting experience for me. I still remember the process of planning the scenes, writing the script, and working with classmates to bring the story to life. Seeing the final result on screen, even in its simple school project form, was incredibly satisfying and sparked my desire to continue making films in the future.

The Director’s Cut was created by me due to the limited editing time available during the initial production of the movie. As the sole editor, I felt rushed and pressured to complete the project within the given timeframe. Consequently, after some time, I decided to take all the original footage and independently edit the movie into the Director’s Cut. This new editing experience allowed me to have the necessary time to refine the film and ensure its quality. In my opinion, the Director’s Cut surpasses the Theatrical Release Cut in terms of overall quality.
